You’re looking forward to the birth of your baby. You look at baby registry sites and the mountain of things they say your baby and the nursery needs is often too overwhelming.
Many newborn parents almost always “overbuys”. And it’s a very easy thing to do. It’s only natural to want to be fully prepared. Also, many baby items for sale are so adorable that you can’t help but get them.
But you don’t have to succumb to this if you don’t want to. Stick to the essential baby items for your newborn and your baby will not know the difference.
I asked a few of my friends about this and here’s the list that we all agreed are essential must-haves.

As you can see, there’s not a lot of baby stuff and furniture that are essential to get the baby room ready. It’s tempting to fill the nursery with all the cute gadgets and furniture you can see on Wayfair or Amazon. But based on many parents’ experience, you won’t need a lot of these. Buy only the essential things that you need and you’ll be less stressed with preparing for the baby (plus it’s better for your wallet, too!).
