Kids Cat Halloween Costumes That Look So Adorable And Catty!

The classic black cat costume is quite popular for Halloween. It’s a good one to wear for both Halloween and pretend play. But when it comes to cats, you’re not limited to black feline costumes!

Your child can go the complete opposite and be a white cat or a cheeky looking kitty cat. There are even costumes for many toddlers’ favorite tv character like Kwazii cat from the Octonauts or Catboy from PJ Masks.

Here are some of the best ones we’ve seen. Hope you find one that your child will wear this Halloween.

The smartest and cheekiest pirate cat in town is here. If your child has been watching the Octonauts, he just might want to be Kwazii — Captain Barnacles good friend and of course, part of the Octonauts crew.

You can make a DIY Kwazii costume, but this sure is one much easier way to get a hold of one.

Homemade DIY Kids Cat Halloween Costumes

Now if you have the time and the talent to make kids cat Halloween costume for your little ones, here are some video tutorials on how to make one. Some of them are easy to do while others look a little bit more complicated (at least, to my not very crafty eyes).

If you end-up making one of them. Do send us some of the pics. We love hearing from you.

DIY Cat’s Ear And Tail Costume [With Free Ear Template]

If your child already has black leggings and a black top, all you need to do are the tail and the cat’s ears. And this is what this video tutorial is all about. If you have basic sewing skills, you can do this easily.

For the ears, download the template. You will need a black cloth and an Alice band for this.

For the tail, you will need a fluffy scarf and something light that you can put inside it to stuff it with.

You can download the cat’s ear template in the Kidspot website here.

DIY Kitty Cat Costume

You’ll need to get a few cat material to make this costume, so it’s not one you can easily do as a last-minute costume.

For this costume, you will need: black top and leggings, black pipe cleaners, Alice band, fluffy boa, wire hanger, black ribbon, black tulle, pink and black felt and a glue gun (or sewing machine)

A Cute Cat Costume

This is for people who plan to do some sewing to make this costume. It takes time and a bit of expertise (although I think you can also just use a glue gun if you want– or hand sew it).

It is, however, very cute once it’s made.

A few things to bear in mind. It’s probably better to use fabric pen than nail polish to draw the cat on the fabric.  Also, this video doesn’t show how to make the dress. But I think that if your child already has a black dress that you can turn into a costume, it would make the job so much easier.

Lastly, this is a bit more of the “sexy” kind of Halloween dress. You can make it a bit more child-friendly by adding a white top and black leggings.

Cat Face Painting Ideas

So now you’ve got the costume ready and all you need to do is paint your child’s face. Here are some cat faces to copy.

It includes instructions for easy black cat face to a hello kitty face!
